Oil and Gas Cavern Support Facilities

Marcellus/Utica Shale

Lane Power & Energy Solutions (LPES) is actively studying the feasibility of storing natural gas liquid (NGL) in hard rock and salt caverns in the Marcellus and Utica shale regions.

Surface Facilities

LPES provides a variety of design and construction services for surface systems for cavern storage facilities. The scope of surface facilities design and construction frequently includes the equipment and systems needed to move stored fluid and gasses to and from the storage site. Among these are cross-country pipelines; compressor stations and pipeline pumps; and on-site systems to receive, withdraw, inject, and deliver stored fluids and gasses.

The leach plant is a main element in constructing a solution-mined storage facility. Its features include: fresh water source pumps and piping; brine collection, storage, and treatment system; and instrumentation, control, and measurement systems.  The LPES team has designed and installed 25+ leaching facilities.
